SAFETY
All buses, registered from 2023 onwards, are equipped with an advanced package of driver
assistance systems designed to enhance safety, comfort, and eiciency while driving.
These include Electronic Stability Control (ESP), which helps maintain control of the vehicle in
critical situations, along with Lane Departure Warning (LDW) featuring tactile alerts, and Lane
Change Support (LCS) with visual warnings.
Lane Return Assist (LRA) helps keep the vehicle properly within its lane, while the forward
collision warning system and Emergency Brake Assist (EBA Plus) work to prevent or mitigate
impacts.
The MAN SafeStop system ensures the vehicle comes to a safe stop in case of emergency,
while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Stop & Go function automatically adjusts speed
according to traic, making driving easier even in stop-and-go conditions. Additional support
systems include turning assistance with visual and acoustic alerts, traic sign recognition
(STI), and automatic headlight control, including a light sensor and high beam management.
Comfort and safety are further enhanced by automatic windshield wiper adjustment via rain
sensor and the driver attention monitoring system (MAN AttentionGuard).
Preventing accidents also means reducing downtime, safely transporting people, and
protecting the health of the driver, passengers, and other road users. The Electronic Stability
Program (ESP) helps the driver in critical driving situations.
Intelligent Braking
No Wheel Locking
During braking, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) monitors the rotation of each wheel and
adjusts the brake pressure individually, preventing wheel lockup. This ensures directional
stability and maneuverability even during hard braking on slippery roads.
No Wheel Slip
With the Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), the Electronic Braking System (EBS) can combine engine
and brake adjustments. Wheel slip during acceleration or starting is prevented by reducing
engine torque, minimizing traction loss.
No Loss of Traction
For ASR brake regulation, the EBS control unit uses the same wheel-speed sensors as the
ABS, but only acts on the drive wheels. If only one wheel of the drive axle slips, the differential
transfers the remaining torque to the wheel with traction.
Comprehensive Warning System
The new generation of the Emergency Braking Assistance system makes our vehicles even safer and reduces the risk of road accidents. The system detects critical situations and warns the driver in advance. If the driver does not respond, emergency braking is activated. In this case, in addition to the stop lights, the Emergency Stopping Signal (ESS) flashes, alerting other road users and helping prevent collisions.
Lane-Keeping Assistance
Enhanced road safety is ensured by precise lane detection. Using advanced camera technologies, the Lane-Keeping Assistance system reliably monitors lane position. If the bus unintentionally crosses the lane markings without using the turn signal, the system alerts the driver with an acoustic signal, reducing the risk of an accident.
Driver Fatigue?
No problem
In tourist transport, drivers can get tired, especially on long highways or state roads. Our vehicles minimize accident risks by detecting early signs of driver fatigue using lane-keeping camera data and other vehicle information, helping the driver actively prevent accidents.
A Safe System
Speed is often underestimated and the distance to the vehicle ahead slightly overestimated. Our vehicles are equipped with adaptive distance control systems that automatically adjust both cruising speed and distance to the vehicle in front within preset limits. This system can be used at speeds starting from 25 km/h.
